Skating skills are the foundation of hockey, yet many coaches feel unsure how to teach proper edge control, stride efficiency, and power generation. This gap impacts skill development in young players, increased injury risk, and frustration for both athletes and parents.

This is where the Hockey Power & Edge Coach Clinic comes in. I teach youth hockey coaches foundational skating skill drills they can use at team practices for the Mites, Squirts, and PeeWee levels to develop stronger athletes.

During this clinic, I’ll show you how to break down basic edge work, crossovers, turns, and power drills tailored to young players. You will leave the clinic with the tools and confidence to implement foundational edge and power development drills into your next practice, along with helpful tools like coaching tips and athlete cues.

Whether you’re a first-year coach or an experienced coach looking to sharpen your fundamentals, this clinic will give you skills to develop strong, safe, and efficient skaters, and set your players up for a lifetime of hockey success.

Bring your skates! While not required, attendees are encouraged to try the skills and drills as we go through them on the ice.

Included in this clinic:

  • Workbook for taking notes

  • Practice plan template- the exact practice plan template I use when planning skating skill sessions with teams

  • Sample practice plan- a complete practice plan with warm up and skill exercises (plus key points and athlete cues!) you can use with your team
